Annie, a 1st generation Chinese American queer woman, is the founder of Volition Tea, a Chicago-based specialty tea purveyor. Her work in cultivating a mainstream market for single-origin loose leaf tea has been widely covered since the company founded in 2021 (World Tea NewsChicago ReaderBlock Club Chicago), and has been selected as this year’s Imbibe “75 people and places that are dedicated to building a better drinks world”.

Volition Tea builds tea experiences that are deeply rooted in humanity, sharing stories of farmers who have always been rendered invisible by the tea industry at large. The entire collection of teas is grown pesticide-free with 100% traceability to their origin.
