Clay Carving Workshop with Monsoon Pottery Thursday, March 6 6:00-9:00pm
Join Chicago-based Danielle Chutinthranond of Monsoon Pottery for a blue and white clay carving workshop and create two original porcelain plates. Learn the history of blue and white wares and the basics of the modern Mishima technique. Danielle will discuss the power of the traditional Asian symbols and motifs she references in her own work and encourage you to craft your own. We recommend bringing ideas and line drawings you like for reference.
Ticket cost includes:
- One small porcelain plates (to be picked up after firing)
- A lesson on the history of blue and white wares and hands-on instruction
- Guest have to option to purchase an additional plate to carve during the workshop for $40

This is an introductory class for beginners, but all skill levels are welcome.
Location
Event will be held in the Third Season Design Studio at 1516 W Carroll Ave. Entrance is on the Justine side of the building under our three greenhouses.
