One of the most important aspects of cultivating green space is supporting pollinators.

In partnership with The Hive Supply Company, we manage over 100 hives in Chicago. Together we provide maintenance, honey and honey products to our communities and partners that host our hives.

Our shared mission is to install as many hives as we can and to support and rejuvenate collapsing bee populations. All profits from the purchase of TRCF honey and honey infusions go toward our grant fund, which develops apiary programs for schools and community gardens.

The Roof Crop Foundation has broken ground on a new project, Muster Point. Muster Point is our Community Hive - a thriving gathering point in East Garfield Park. Muster Point is centered around a propagation house that will serve as the headquarters for our urban agriculture plant start program.

In addition to the propagation house, Muster Point will have an outdoor gathering space where small community businesses and non-profit organizations can host events or sell their goods.

In partnership with local community organizations, we invite students from across the Chicagoland area to The Roof Crop and Muster Point to demonstrate urban farming practices, provide insight into where our food comes from and share the ecological benefits of sustainable agriculture and seasonality.

The young adults participating in our program will help harvest on the rooftop farm, engage in demonstrations, and participate in cooking and eating the food they harvested at our onsite partner restaurant, Maxwells Trading.
