Beam Paints Paint Stones are created with lightfast pigments, tree sap, and gum Arabic. Not only are these gems ethically made, but they support our commitment to sustainability and being environmentally friendly. Each stone comes wrapped in beeswaxed cotton with a paper label indicating the color name - designed to fit perfectly into any halfpan holder. The stones measure 7/8 inches from edge to edge of the wrapper and 5/8 inches across the paint.

These colors have been third party tested by Duke University and meet the standards of ACMI Art and Creative Materials Institute to the ASTM-D4236, making them safe for use by even the youngest artists.

Beam Paints Story
M'Chigeeng First Nation, Ontario, Canada
Founded in 2018
Beam Paints is 100% indigenous-owned and rich in tradition and artistic legacy. Founder Anong Beam’s earliest memories growing up on Manitoulin Island, M'chigeeng First Nation, are encountering color with her parents, both practicing artists, and learning to know color as forces, personas with emotions and powers all their own. She learned how to harvest hematite pigment with her father in the La Cloche mountain range, and now continues this tradition as a paint maker. The paints are handmade in small batches with local Manitoulin honey, wildcrafted tree sap, hand gathered, washed, and sifted Manitoulin stone, and the finest lightfast pigments that are 100% non-toxic, smooth, luscious, easy to work with.
