Open Studio - Community Indigo Dye Vat Workshop | Fundraiser

$ 45.00
Ticket Time

Come and explore the magic of indigo dyeing at our first Open Studio Community Indigo Dye Vat Saturday, May 10th 3:30 - 7:30 pm

We're excited to invite you to a dye event using The Roof Crop grown indigo. We'll have an organic indigo fructose vat ready for you to use, along with educational materials explaining how the vat was created. We will also provide materials for you to explore shibori and other resist dyeing techniques.

Secure your spot at the Community Indigo Vat by selecting a time slot.

Due to the sensitive nature of our living, breathing indigo vat, we can only accommodate up to 10 individuals per hour. We kindly ask that you respect this limit and give everyone a chance to participate. The final hour will be dedicated to winding down and completing any remaining tasks.

Don't worry if your time slot overlaps with others - this will allow us to stagger participants at the vat.

Each ticket permits dyeing of one item. To dye multiple items, please purchase additional tickets.

Items you can dye: Small Napkins, bandanas, tank tops, lightweight slips, or socks. [laundered, 100% natural fibers only - cotton, linen, silk, wool]

This workshop will donate $20 from the price of the ticket to KAN-WIN, a non-profit organization that focuses on ending gender-based violence by providing comprehensive, survivor-centered services. These services include education and outreach to Asian American communities and beyond.

This is an introductory workshop for beginners, but all skill levels are welcome.
